What is UXCELLECE.ORG about?

Is the first virtual mentorship academy to become a product designer created by me, Carlos Ripetta, and also as a principal mentor.

Now let me tell you a little bit about my background as a Product Designer.

I have worked as a digital designer for the last 17 years, and the last 11 years advocated developing my skills in UX and UI. When I started there wasn't a lot of academic or educational history to the discipline to become a Product Designer and the best way to learn it was in the working field. The word "User Experience" was floating around and our label as Digital Designers was changing slowly from that to UX/UI Designer and then to Product Designer, it took... I would say almost a decade. I have been in small companies, startups, big companies, and global companies as well.

Which one is my idea with UXCELLECE.ORG?

I will teach you all the fundamentals of being a product designer, our real role of us, the importance of communication between groups, the current situation of the companies, and the boundaries of culture and languages that you will find in multi-culture teams. PERSONAL BACKGROUND

First, I would like to know about your background, and if you have any experience in the design, UX, UI, and art fields. And amongst all your current mindset, remember, being a Product Designer it´s a vein of art, an expression of your inner self, your perceptions, and fears. Overcoming this is the key to your self success.  

GOALS AND OBJETIVES

Would you like to be more oriented on the Research, UX, or UI side? How much time do you have to start this journey? How much money do you want to do in what specific time frame? There is a lot that we can talk about, there is a lot that I can guide you and tell you from my experience. Goals and objectives it is the roadmap defined to start our mentorship.

MIDNSET

MINDSET is everything. Do you want to become the best of the best ones? The great of the greatest? Fears have to be overcome, and comfort zone is not an option.

UX - USER EXPERIENCE

UX is the foundation of the whole process, we´ll go through the standard process, the good practices but most importantly the relationship between UX and BUSINESS, nowadays all digital platform's success is based on a good experience, regardless of what is happening behind the curtains, the USER will come back if the user experience was correct and needs and goals were satisfied their end.

UI - USER INTERFACE

UX and UI are a duet, and they have to coexist in harmony. UI is also a user experience, is more related to the surface of the process, the finest details, creating an image not only for the platform but also for the company also. DESIGN SYSTEMS, LIBRARIES, and everything in between. 

COMMUNICATION AND TEAM WORK

Communication is key to materializing the project, that means that you can design the best product in modern human history, but if you don't materialize it, IT DOESN'T EXIST for the users. That requires communication with the PO, PMs, and developers. The product designer will be across the entire project, from the first meeting until the last one before the release, and then, it will continue, to create a great digital platform it never ends.
